Liberty Electronics

Representation: Committee of Unsecured Creditors

Bankruptcy – Western District of Pennsylvania

Situation: Bernstein and Bernstein, P.C. represented one of the largest unsecured creditors of Liberty Electronics. When the electronics firm, a supplier of wire harness subcontracting for military projects, filed a Chapter 11 Petition, the committee of unsecured creditors chose Robert S. Bernstein and Bernstein and Bernstein, P.C. to represent it.

Action: With respect to a plan of reorganization prepared before the bankruptcy filing, Bernstein and Bernstein, P.C. counseled the creditors’ committee and assisted with the incorporation of a number of significant modifications into the plan. Slightly longer than one year after the original filing, the reorganization plan was confirmed, with the debtor agreeing to pay unsecured creditors in full.
