ROBERT S. BERNSTEIN ADDRESSES EQUIPMENT LEASING INDUSTRY

The members of the Equipment Leasing Association of America (ELA) were the audience for Robert S. Bernstein, Esq. and his distinguished panel as they presented: “Not Just Your Regular Old Legal Update!” A new and exciting look at the legislative, UCC, civil and bankruptcy things you thought you knew…including developments during the past year. Issues discussed included: UCC Article 2A, Article 1 and Revised Article 9, state/federal court civil issues; state legislative update. This presentation took place at the ELA Legal Forum in Chicago, IL on May 6, 2002 with Mr. Bernstein acting as Moderator. He was also one of two presenters on: “Workouts without Breaking a Sweat.” During this breakout session, Bernstein explored the appropriate use of forbearance agreements and workout strategies in correlation to the equipment leasing industry.

Bernstein, a Board Certified Creditors’ Rights and Business Bankruptcy Specialist, is the Managing Partner of Bernstein-Burkley, P.C., a Pittsburgh-based law firm specializing in lease enforcement, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. staff includes eight (8) attorneys who provide a wide array of collection services to the firm’s clients. The firm’s attorneys are admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, West Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Bernstein frequently lectures for both local and national groups on matters of lease enforcement, bankruptcy and collection.

The ELA is a nonprofit organization representing the broad-based equipment leasing and finance industry to the business community, government and the media. Headquartered in Arlington, VA, the ELA promotes the image of the leasing industry as a major source of funds for capital investment in the United States and around the world.
