Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. Managing Partner Appointed Chair of Allegheny County Bar Professional Ethics Committee

Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. Managing Partner Bob Bernstein was selected to chair the Allegheny County Bar Association’s (ACBA) Professional Ethics Committee, effective July 1, 2003.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve the Allegheny County Bar Association in this important capacity,” Bernstein said. “The ACBA has a history of serving the public interest and ensuring that our members comport with the highest ethical standards.”

The Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) is a professional organization with more than 6,700 members including lawyers, judges, district justices, legal administrators and paralegals. Bernstein has been an active member of the ACBA for more than 20 years. He served as Vice Chair of the Professional Ethics Committee for the past two years and he is also a member of the Finance Committee. He is past chair of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section and of the Technology Utilization Committee.

Bernstein holds the rare distinction of being Board Certified in both Creditor’s Rights and Business Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. With a practice concentrating in bankruptcy and commercial law, Bernstein has extensive experience in several bankruptcy courts in bankruptcy matters, including representing secured and unsecured creditors, trustees and companies reorganizing under Chapter 11. Bernstein also heads the firm’s Preference Defense Team.

Bernstein has served as President of the Commercial Law League of America, North America’s oldest creditor’s rights organization and has served as Treasurer of the American Board of Certification, the country’s only Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Attorney board-certification organization.

Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. is a family-owned and managed law firm in Pittsburgh, PA with a 35-year history of providing expert counsel to clients throughout the country in the areas of Creditor’s Rights, Bankruptcy, Retail and Commercial Collections, Lease Enforcement, and Mortgage Foreclosure.
