Why is a trained mediator important?

Posted on October 29, 2012 by Bob Bernstein

Creditors’ Rights 19

Q: In addition to being a board-certified attorney in the area of creditors’ rights, I understand that you are also a trained mediator. Why is this important to your clients?

A: If possible, it is always valuable to preserve business relationships and avoid litigation. The likelihood of preserving your business relationship with your adversary is greater if you elect to resolve your dispute through mediation. Specifically, mediating disputes tends to allow issues to be resolved without the antagonism that can develop in traditional litigation. Thus, a profitable ongoing business relationship has a better chance of being preserved and continued. Of course, this is not always possible, and that is why you need an experienced creditors’ rights law firm on your side to help you get paid what is owed to you.
