What websites do you recommend using to locate “disappearing debtors” and their assets?

Posted on October 29, 2012 by Bob Bernstein

Creditors’ Rights 17

A: A creditors’ rights law practice, particularly one involving collections, can perform a substantial amount of investigatory work to locate the “disappearing debtor.” There are various free and commercial websites that can help you uncover information about a debtor. One of the best is www.searchsystems.net, a free public records directory. It will enable you to find business information, corporate filings, property records, criminal records, bankruptcies, and judgments and tax liens. As of March 2006, it had 35,773 Searchable Public Record Databases (mostly free, however, a few searches are fee-based). Searches can be conducted by category or throughout the United States on a state-by-state basis.
