Arch Riley Joins Bernstein-Burkley, P.C.’s West Virginia Office as Partner, Expanding the Firm’s Creditors’ Rights, Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Groups
Arch W. Riley, Jr., an accomplished attorney with more than 30 years of experience in commercial bankruptcy law, has joined Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. as a partner in West Virginia, where the firm is expanding its creditors’ rights and bankruptcy and restructuring practice groups. Riley becomes the fifth Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. lawyer licensed to practice in West Virginia.
Riley has extensive experience in representing debtors and secured creditors in bankruptcy, as well as focusing on financial reconstructing and workouts, asset acquisitions, real estate and other related transactional areas of law.

Riley comes to Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. from Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC, where he was a co-chair of their bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group. He is a 1982 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, and was recognized by Super Lawyers West Virginia.
He is a fourth generation attorney in the Wheeling area with his great grandfather having established the Riley law firm in 1878, and is an active member of the community. Riley is a member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Economic Development Partnership and president of the Board of Directors of the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation. He is also president of the Augusta Levy Learning Center, Inc. Board of Directors, and is a past commissioner and chairman with the City of Wheeling Planning Commission.
