ROBERT S. BERNSTEIN ADDRESSES EQUIPMENT LEASING INDUSTRY
The members of The Equipment Leasing Association of America (ELA) were the audience for Robert S. Bernstein, Esq. as he presented: “Bankruptcy and Workouts: Preserving your Lease Investment in Uncertain Times.” The breakout session discussed ways to preserve lease investments in uncertain times: proper monitoring of your portfolio; the lease review-the first avenue of defense; when payments stop- the fundamentals of the default notice and forbearance agreement; and bankruptcies and liquidations: opportunities and challenges. Bernstein is the Managing Partner of Bernstein-Burkley, P.C., a Pittsburgh-Pennsylvania based law firm, which concentrates in the areas of commercial and consumer collections, lease enforcement, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy.
The ELA is a nonprofit organization representing the broad-based equipment leasing and finance industry to the business community, government and the media. Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, ELA promotes the image of the leasing industry as a major source of funds for capital investment in the United States and other countries.
Bob Bernstein frequently lectures for local and national groups on matters of collection, lease enforcement and bankruptcy. He has been certified as both a Creditors’ Rights and Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification and also previously served as President of the Commercial Law League of America, North America’s oldest creditors’ rights organization.
