NICHOLAS KRAWEC FEATURED SPEAKER AT NATIONAL BUSINESS INSTITUTE PROGRAM ON SUCCESSFUL JUDGMENT COLLECTIONS IN PENNSYLVANIA – DECEMBER 2002
Nicholas Krawec, partner at Pittsburgh-based law firm, Bernstein-Burkley, P.C., P. C., addressed a number of issues relating to successful judgment collections. The National Business Institute (NBI) hosted the special seminar. This program, “Successful Judgment Collections in Pennsylvania,” was held Tuesday, December 3, 2002, from 9:00 a.m.-4:30p.m. at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center.
Krawec is a creditors’ rights specialist certified by the American Board of Certification and specializes in the areas of creditors’ rights and commercial law. Bernstein-Burkley, P.C. also concentrates in the areas of commercial and retail collections, bankruptcy and lease enforcement. Krawec addressed the NBI on essential aspects of enforcing judgements. Obtaining judgment against a bad debt is a major step in debt collection. In most cases, however, your judgment is a far cry from having cash in hand, and therefore, your work is just beginning. He noted, “There isn’t any MAGIC or LUCK involved in collecting judgments, but there are DOs and DON’Ts. If you follow the DOs you will maximize your results in collecting. If you don’t follow them you may end up with greater problems than ‘not collecting,’ such as claims of malpractice.”
