An Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (“Committee”) is essential to protecting the unsecured creditors’ claims and interests throughout the bankruptcy process. The Committee often plays a significant role in how the case progresses and the ultimate distribution to creditors. That’s why Bernstein Burkley is proud to have been selected and appointed as Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of South Hills Operations, LLC, et. al. (Case No. 24-21217-CMB). The five-member committee consists of Med Plus Staffing LLC, ShiftMed, LLC, Alixa Rx LLC, Care Connection Nursing, and All American Healthcare Services, Inc.
On May 17, 2024, South Hills Operations, LLC (“South Hills”), along with twenty-one (21) affiliates sharing substantially similar common ownership (together the “Debtors”), sought Chapter 11 protection in the bankruptcy court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. The cases have been jointly administered, with South Hills serving as the lead case. Thirteen (13) Debtors (the “OpCo Debtors”) operate skilled nursing facilities located in Western Pennsylvania. Nine (9) of Debtors own the real property (the “PropCo Debtors”) and substantially all assets leased to the OpCo Debtors.
In our long history, Bernstein-Burkley has put millions of dollars into the hands of creditors who face the daunting task of navigating a customer’s bankruptcy. We look forward to advocating and obtaining the best possible result.
