Robert S. Bernstein Testifies Before State Senate
Robert S. Bernstein, Managing Partner of Bernstein Bernstein Krawec & Wymard, a Pittsburgh, PA-based law firm concentrating in the areas of collections, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, testified before the Pennsylvania State Senate in Harrisburg this morning. The legislation under consideration was State Bill 1098–a bill approving wage garnishment for the collection of judgments. Bernstein served as one of the representatives from the Pennsylvania Credit Bar Association. Among the many other groups speaking in favor of the bill’s adoption were credit unions, retailers, bankers and landlords.
While there was opposition to the bill from the labor unions, the Senate hearing went well, according to Bernstein. The work of the broad-based coalition supporting the bill continues.
